GCSE Courses To Become An Author? Help?!?!

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering what options i have to take to become an author. One of my core subjects that i have to do is english literature and i was wondering what else might help me towards my dream?

I am also quite frustrated that there is extra maths and science courses, but no extra english?

Hey Darren, just wondering. Does the Shanta Claus story change every year? Or is it the same? Just wondering because this is the first one i've read, and I know you probably wouldn't have put a Twilight reference in there in 2007.

I have just finished reading Shanta Claus (Consider Santa 'Claws'?) and I have to say, it had me in stitches. I do not believe I have read it in five years. The Twilight reference was great! You tell Stephenie Meyer what you think her and her film.
That is about it anyway, I just wanted to show little gratitude.

Just to say there's nowhere to discuss the Thin Executioner so i thought i would just say here that the covers for it are *awesome* I think the UK one is possibly the best cover I have ever seen on a Darren Shan book.

I know this may seem like a dumb question but it has bugged me for the entire time I have read and reread you cirque du freak series. In the dedication page of every book there is a section marked OBEs (order of the bloody entrails). What does this mean? Is it like an inside joke or something? -Lcreps

1st Edition Book Runs

Darren, in your news bulletin (Signed Books 17 Nov), you talk about the book runs being smaller before than now (naturally). Is there a list somewhere showing how many runs were on each 1st edition? I've got the full Saga in 1st's and see them on ebay quite often, and have wondered how many of each there are, should i hold onto them etc..?

Isn't it odd that authors all have the same ideas about vampires?? I mean havn't you ever wondered that they all group together and discuss this sort of thing then go away, write books but make minor differences so that they aren't all the same and therefore, suspicious?? Think of 3 vampire books, films or comics released around the same time. Are they simular?? That's what I thought. All together, these authors know too much about vampires that...
