New Moon actually has a bigger production budget (I think) than CDF does (mainly because the first one was such a huge hit). I do think, at least here in the US, that the Twilight series has a bigger buzz than the CDF series does, simply because it is more familiar here; just like CDF may have a stronger buzz in the UK, because the book series was published there first. I only heard about the movie when I read an interview done with Ray Stevenson, whom I'd been a fan of when he was on Rome. It sounded interesting, and some months later my daughter brought home the first book from school, and we read the series together (we'd only gotten to book 3 by summer, but she wants to read the rest). That was how I got into the series; but I will admit that I knew alot more about Twilight. I've gotten a few people I work with interested in the movie and books, and most of them say they even like them better than Twilight.

I think what Universal is hoping is that they can get CDF out and going strong before New Moon comes out, because it will be pretty hard to beat that one.

I would think New Moon would be better, simply because Edward is hardly in the story. But honestly, I'm not going to pay $10 to see a teenage girl mope over a guy when I can see the same thing for free next door...complete with soundtrack.

Haha that made me lol. i agree though about the fact it will be better because edward is hardly in the story, and i don't personally want to see a pubescent teenager drope on about her vampire lover lol<------

Don't get me wrong, I always go for a good romantic story. My main complaint about Twilight is that the characters are BORING....I never got what made Bella so attractive; she seemed totally devoid of any character or personality whatsoever. Same thing with Edward-I didn't find him attractive in the least. Plus, I just have a hard time buying into the the old "love at first sight" cliche...maybe I'm too cynical, or maybe I'm just getting old, but the whole "I love someone so much that I'm willing to abandon everything in my life for them, they are my everything, my whole life, yadayadayada" bit totally pulls me out of the story.
