I really liked it! Of course it wasn't going to be as good as the books, but I can't think of any movies that are. I would go see it again (probably
will) if anyone else I know wants to go see it.

Ok, saw the film this afternoon...not bad. I'm still trying to process everything, so I'll just hit on a few points:
1. The story went by VERY fast...a little too much so in my opinion. Honestly, they could've taken out everything with Steve in the middle, and still had 2 hours worth of material, and the movie wouldn't have felt so rushed. I was honestly afraid to blink, because I might've missed something. 2. The editing wasn't nearly as bad as reviews made it out to be, but it was a little scattershot. You weren't left with a very good idea in terms of timeline, especially after Darren joined the Cirque. Was it a few days, a few weeks...it wasn't very obvious. There were one or two abrupt scene changes, but not in a way that detracted from the movie...they were just kinda sudden. 3. Chris Massoglia~sigh...I feel sorry for the kid. It was pretty obvious that he doesn't have much experience. His performance wasn't bad exactly, but a little...flat. He tends to speak in a bit of a nasally monotone, and sometimes he looked a little confused. But then there were times he was very good. 4. John C. Reilly was AWESOME! The scene were he blooded Darren, he looked honest to god SCARY (in a good way). I loved everything he was in. 5. I thought the character of Rebecca was a good addition. She had alot of the personality of Debbie, and plus she was just a very sweet looking girl. 6. Evra Von was awesome...I felt bad for him. He SO just wanted to do his own thing, he didn't really want to be a freak show performer. It would've been cool to have seen more of him. Overall...I enjoyed it very much. I actually wanted to watch it again, because I felt like there was alot that I missed somehow. OH....I liked that they fleshed out Crepsley a little bit. It involved changing the story, but they gave alot more of his backstory. It WILL be interesting to see what happens if they make a sequel of the next 3 books, because there's alot in relation to the generals, Vampire Mountain, etc., that they seemed to have changed...I guess we'll just have to see. |

I thought it was a pretty good movie. Though I don't know how there's going to be for movies since the third movie would have been basically steve
pretending to be Darren's friend then finding out Steve had a son with Annie. So it'll be interesting (if they keep going with the Saga) what they will
do for the third movie instead.

I have to say, it was a really great movie... if you havent read the books. I guess since I was so excited about a different story about Vampires finally
coming out... without sparkling, I was really hopeing I would like it more then I did. My sister owns the books and said I should read them, so I did... that
was like 4 years ago, I read all 12 in less then 2 weeks. We were both incredibly excited to hear they were gunna be making a movie. We spent the whole two
hours horrified on how many mistakes and changes they did in the movie. There was no monkey girl... so if he's gunna hook up with her... are we getting rid
of Debbie? And now book 10 is irrelevent since we know how the little ones are made. No Lake of Souls needed. I thought John C Riley played the part of
Crepsley really well... however his looks is what threw me off... I have a feeling I will not cry as hard as I did when I read about his death... I just
can't grasp him as Mr Crepsley.

Personally i felt it was a complete let down. Obviously it was never going to be as good as the books but i would of at least liked some similarities as much
as it could of. As much as I like Riley, i dont think he fitted the part of crepsley in my opinion. The brief showing of Purl as well I got a bit annoyed at
Gavner is meant to be a hard nut general not an old man with a mustache. The plot moved on way to fast for me and missed out some of the bits i would of
enjoyed seeing. The whole getting the flyer to see the cirque from Des' car was a bit to ugh.. for me. I went and saw the film the day it was released and
had high expectations. Im sure everyone who loves the books and read them god knows how many times over would also have felt a bit let down at how the film
ended up. But none the less i was happy to finally see a film I have waited a long time for hopefully for the next one they try and stick to the book a bit
more as Tunnels Of Blood is one of my favorites in the series with all the deception. Although i'm most exited about Vampire War trilogy with the vampire
trials.

much better job at playing the part then Darren.
