Posts: 1 (23 October, 2009 19:03:41) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : cirque, freak, movie Personally I am quite impressed with the movie and how it has been adapted from the books, even though the movie is quite different, it is a good different! Here are some points I feel about the film: - Firstly, John C.Reilly really does do a fantastic job of being Mr Crepsley, I know there has been a lot of rage over him playing the act and not being right for the part.. but really, after watching him he is amazing! - Steve having purple eyes is good, even though they have changed the purple skin bit - I'm really glad the main point of Darren becoming a half-vampire hasn't changed - The humour of the film is really funny - I don't quite get it why 'Murlough' has become 'Murlaugh' though and they pronounce it as 'Murlock' ? ..Personally I think they should have stuck with 'Murlough' - I didn't really like how Harkat is, they made him too cute really.. - Mr Crepsley + Truska ? That romance part didn't really fit at all - The monkey girl isn't really a great substitute for Debbie, I didn't like her part that much And after how it ended they really can't leave it there, they need to make the rest of the films now! :P Please post your opinions of the movie!

Posts: 62 (23 October, 2009 19:27:21) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	After dreaming of this movie coming out in theaters and actually seeing my dream come true was shocking enough. I couldn't believe my eyes. I literally had to keep pinching myself to tell me that this isn't a dream. It was exactly how I pictured it. I loved the changes... a bit too much. Like I've said before: You can't go wrong with a Darren Shan story. His stories are just pure awesomeness and they always will be. There's no possible way you can screw it up. Back to the changes.... I love the fact that they changed a lot of things. Seriously. It gives me hope that in the final film (book 12) they change the ending.... Most of you probably know what I'm talking about. As for Mr. Tiny, he was supposed to be a midget in a green suit with a heart shaped watch. Instead, they made him a fat bald guy. Honestly, I see no harm in that. The movie still felt like the books. I'm just hoping they have something cooked up for the finale and I'm dying to see what they do. I loved how they involved Mr. Tiny a lot in the film. We even saw the doorway leading to the wasteland. The Lake Of Souls. We even saw him take a soul. That was so awesome. Although Darren didn't involve Mr. Tiny a lot in the first 3 books, I liked it. Destiny is a very interesting character. Maybe it might even spark Darren's imagination again (with the Cirque Du Freak storyline) involving that wasteland world. I really really really hope the movie does well at the box office. I want to see this through. Destiny reminded me of Lord Loss. He hungered on the misery of Darren and Steve. They had a best friend moment when they had their battle and Mr. Tiny jumped in the middle of it and said how exciting it was to see them suffer. Last Edited By: AMWIRED 23 October, 2009 19:50:04. They got so much stuff wrong, it hurt my head. I personally think it would be a good movie to the people that HAVEN'T read any of the books. Evra disappointed me too, I was looking forward to seeing him the most. Everything was so rushed too, it all happened way too fast.

I think it was at the right speed. We got a glimpse of everything every cirque performer does. Evra's fine. I was just expecting more snakes in our faces. I wasn't expecting him to jam with his snake.

And how long has Evra had a 'recording studio'? I admit, the performing scene went by fast BUT it did show everyone. I just mean that everything else went by insanely fast. Like, Darren immediately wanting to steal Octa, Steve getting bit, etc. The way Crepsley acted annoyed me also. He's supposed to be wise, and politely cruel. Not constantly swearing, and talking like everyone else.

I am kind of disappointed in the amount of screen time Evra got, though-- I was expecting to see a lot more of him! I'm pretty sure 'Murlock' is the correct pronunciation of 'Murlough'. At least, that's what it says here, if you scroll down.

I went with my friend who read the series and one who didn't. The one who read the series didn't like it at all and the one who didn't read the series thought it was pretty good. Well anyway, I really liked the part where they were working around the cirque and hunting, I liked the music at that part. O can't wait to see this again! I might even see it in a couple days with my family! I am PRAYING they make a sequel! That would be awesome to see vampire mountain!!! Ps. 2 best lines in the movie: "I guess your Crepsleys b**** now!" -Evra "I'll shove my head up your ass!"- Loafhead (I can picture that....hahahah)

So I guess they had to compromise and cut lots out.

I think the movie was good up until the end, when he was all happy and $#$!. It doesn't end like that, there is a sequal, he's a vampires assistant not some school boy who just got an A on the math test.

I have been waiting for this movie to come out for 2 years and, personally, I think it was worth the wait.One of my friends was making fun of the movie the day it came out and he has not even seen it yet! I got so mad, I almost socked him in the face!!!
